Alerts That Arrive Before the Chargeback Does
When a Visa cardholder disputes a transaction, their bank pauses the chargeback and sends a Verifi alert. You get notified in time to refund or resolve before anything posts.
Full Dispute Defense for Visa Transactions
Real-Time Pre-Dispute Alerts
Verifi alerts pause the chargeback process the moment a cardholder contacts their bank. You receive notification in real time, giving you a window to refund or resolve the dispute before it escalates. This prevents the chargeback from ever reaching your processing account.
Non-Fraud Dispute Coverage
Verifi covers both fraud and non-fraud disputes, including processing errors, authorization issues, and cardholder service complaints.
Chargeback Ratio Protection
By resolving disputes early, you keep your chargeback ratio below the thresholds that can trigger account review or termination.
Dispute Data and Reporting
Each Verifi alert includes transaction data that helps you identify dispute patterns, refine fraud rules, and strengthen your prevention strategy.
Pair with Ethoca for Full Coverage
Verifi covers Visa issuers; Ethoca covers Mastercard. Using both networks together gives you pre-dispute protection across all major card types.
Automated Resolution with RDR
Verifi powers Visa's Rapid Dispute Resolution, which lets you set rules to automatically refund matching disputes. When an alert meets your criteria, it is resolved instantly, with no manual action required on your end.

Browse all integrationsHow Verifi Alerts Work
Verifi is a Visa-owned pre-dispute alert network that gives merchants advance notice when a cardholder contacts their issuing bank to dispute a charge. When the bank receives the dispute, it pauses the chargeback process and sends a notification through the Verifi network. That notification reaches Corepay, and we forward it to you with the transaction details and a response window.
If you issue a refund or confirm resolution within the alert window, the dispute is closed and no chargeback is filed. Your chargeback ratio is unaffected and no chargeback fee is assessed. If you choose not to respond, the dispute proceeds through the standard chargeback process.
Verifi vs. Ethoca: Choosing the Right Alert Network
Verifi and Ethoca are the two primary pre-dispute alert networks. They operate on different card networks and are often used together for comprehensive coverage.
Verifi focuses on Visa transactions and has strong coverage among US-based Visa issuers. It also covers non-fraud disputes, which makes it particularly useful for merchants who see disputes related to subscription billing, authorization issues, or service complaints. Ethoca focuses on Mastercard transactions and has broader international issuer coverage.
Because the two networks do not overlap, enrolling in both maximizes your pre-dispute protection. We manage both through a single interface so you have one consolidated view of all incoming alerts regardless of card network.
Verifi Alerts and Visa Rapid Dispute Resolution
Verifi powers two related tools: the Verifi alert network (manual alerts requiring your review) and Visa’s Rapid Dispute Resolution (automated resolution based on pre-set rules). The two tools are designed to work together.
With Verifi alerts, you receive a notification and decide whether to refund or let the chargeback proceed. With RDR, you define rules in advance and the system auto-resolves matching disputes without your involvement. Using both gives you automated handling for predictable dispute types and manual review capability for everything else.
Who Benefits Most from Verifi Alerts?
Verifi alerts deliver the highest return for merchants with significant Visa card volume who operate in categories with elevated dispute rates. Subscription billing, nutraceuticals, digital products, and any business where recurring billing disputes are common benefit substantially from pre-dispute alert coverage.
Merchants approaching Visa’s VAMP merchant standard of 1.50% should treat Verifi enrollment as a priority. Staying below the threshold avoids the fines and scrutiny that come with operating above the limit and protects your account from processor review.
